Ron Buss developed the roll compaction process for aspartame while working for the NutraSweet Company. In fact, Ron’s was the only name listed on NutraSweet’s patent application for this roll compaction process. While developing the aspartame roll compaction process Ron discovered that contract manufacturers were not necessarily prone to divulge process information. He also realized that equipment vendors tended to slant their systems toward standard equipment designs without taking into account the unique properties of the materials to be processed. These two realities made Ron realize there was a place for a company that had a strong technical background, provided transparent process development work, and specified system components based solely on suitability. Since its inception in 1989 CGI has been providing process development, process design, and contract solids processing services for a wide variety of industries.
Over the years CGI began receiving requests to assist in the rebuilding and upgrading of existing systems or to develop unique systems. In many cases these requests were made because equipment manufactures:
§ No longer supported a particular system
§ Were unable to provide a successful technology
§ Required unreasonable lead times.
In 2005 Kinetic Process Design and Mechanical, Inc. was founded by Jeremiah Buss to provide design-build design services to meet the unique needs of our customers. Today Kinetic has an impressive fabrication facility witch includes:
